Christmas Trees & Toys for Children
So that the magic of Christmas forgets no child, in hospital or in vulnerable families.
The context
For many hospitalised children or those from disadvantaged families, Christmas comes and goes without a gift or a celebration. NZILA Leaders has turned this time of year into a moment of solidarity, bringing joy where it is needed most.
Our goals
- Offer a moment of joy and a gift to every child, despite illness or hardship.
- Reach out to hospitalised children and vulnerable families.
- Bring the community together around a surge of generosity.
What we have achieved
Under the concept "One child, one toy, one reality", NZILA Leaders gives toys each year-end to hospitalised children, orphans and children from vulnerable families. For Christmas 2022 alone, the association delighted more than 4,000 children across the country — Rio, Okondja, Oyem, Moanda, Port-Gentil, Akébé, the university hospitals (CHU) of Libreville… — thanks in particular to a charity gala that raised more than 3 million FCFA. In the other editions (2019-2023), between 1,000 and 1,500 toys were given each year.
In 2024, the association took a further step by offering a lasting place: the recreational room at Gahouma hospital.
