"1 Jeune = 1 Arbre"
A citizen reforestation campaign for a greener Gabon, driven by young people and their partners.
The context
Faced with pressure on green spaces and the climate emergency, NZILA Leaders set out to make every young person a concrete actor in protecting the environment. The idea is simple and galvanising: one young person, one tree. To plant is to commit to the future and to bring greenery back to the neighbourhoods.
Our objectives
- Raise young people's awareness about protecting the environment (SDG 15).
- Bring greenery back to public and community spaces.
- Mobilise members, volunteers and partners around a strong civic gesture.
What we have achieved
Around a symbolic goal of 1,000 trees, the "1 Jeune = 1 Arbre" campaign brought together the association's members, volunteers and partners during planting days. Every tree put in the ground strengthens the neighbourhoods' green cover and young people's civic commitment to the environment.
