The context
Male cancers, such as prostate cancer, remain surrounded by taboos and are often detected too late. NZILA Leaders has chosen sport as a driver of awareness: moving together to talk about prevention and encourage early screening, which saves lives.
Our goals
- Raise awareness of early screening for male cancers.
- Promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.
- Bring the community together around a festive moment of solidarity.
What we have achieved
The 1st edition of the Marathon Bleu took place in Akanda on 25 November 2023: a fitness session, a marathon and screening-awareness activities. A festive gathering in a spirit of solidarity, set to become an annual highlight in the prevention of men's health.
